Before I even begin, there is no way that I can start with that title, and not make a reference to The Jeffersons. Man did I love that show as a kid. Talk about a theme song that got stuck in your head:
(This is the song, but not the original version. It appears that all of the videos on youtube with the original version were removed because of copyright. I must admit that this version has an annoying quality to it that the actual theme did not have.)
So, where was I?
Oh yes, moving up.
My brain rarely shuts off. Unfortunately, it spends most of its time engaged in pondering over useless facts and ideas.
So today, when I should have been studying, my mind started to aimlessly wander, and I began thinking about my name. I'm not sure exactly why this popped into my head. Perhaps it was because I was recently discussing name changes due to marriage and/or divorce with a patient.
I was thinking back to my childhood school days, and how my last name began with a "W". Having a name at the end of the alphabet was kind of a double edged sword. I always got to go last for things, which was pretty cool, but sometimes the teachers would trip me up and go backwards. Then I was screwed.
Then I got married and took my ex-husband's last name, so for the past 10 1/2 years my last name has started with a "P", which puts me more towards the middle of the alphabet.
As I'm sure all of you smart readers out there have figured out by now, since I was just discussing Sissy's initials, TNB's last name starts with a "C", so in 284 days my last name will be at the beginning of the alphabet.
I just can't help feeling like I'm moving on up in the world.

Personally, I always liked being at the beginning of the alphabet. Sure, you may have to go first a few times, but then you don't have to pay attention to anything after you're done. I'm just remembering all of those awards presentation things they have in middle and high school, and I would always go up, get my award within the first five minutes while people were still interested in what was going on, and then I got to sit there and zone out for the rest of the program. I was lucky enough to generally be sitting next to people I liked, so it was pretty cool :)
I think about this stuff too. Funny. I only went up one letter from S to a T. Funny thing is, so did my sister. What are the odds?
Sissy ~ When I change my name, I'll probably end up missing it in attendance! I'll be so used to waiting until later in the alphabet to start paying attention.
Debbie ~ That is an odd coincidence!
